We have an important announcement. After careful consideration, Remotivated is adding ghost jobs to the platform.

We heard from users that our current experience, where every job is verified, every company's remote culture is transparent, and you can actually tell whether a role is open before you apply, was, frankly, too straightforward. Several people told us they missed the emotional complexity of the traditional job search. The ambiguity. The suspense. The slow, dawning realization that you just spent an hour applying to a role that was filled in November.

We never set out to make finding a remote job boring, but here we are.

So we're bringing it all back. Fictional postings. "Remote" roles with a commute. Salary ranges that span six figures. Application portals that accept your resume and then go completely silent, forever, like an ex who still watches your Stories. We're even working on a feature where the listing vanishes the moment you click Apply, but our team said that was "too on the nose."

If you're the kind of person who just wants real remote jobs from companies that actually operate remotely, that experience is still available. We just can't guarantee it'll hit the same.

🎯 WORTH YOUR TIME

The Meeting Started 7 Minutes Ago... We Still Can't Hear You.

This IT Pro piece gets at one of the most familiar drains on hybrid work: the time burned just trying to make conference room tech cooperate. Owl Labs found that 79% of employees lose time to technical issues in hybrid meetings, and setup alone wastes an average of 6.5 minutes per meeting. That might not sound like much if you haven't experienced it but when you're a remote employee on the other end it feels like an eternity.

Work is a Verb A newsletter by What do you do when you've blown your annual budget by May? A quick note before we get into it. Work is a Verb isn't an AI newsletter, and it isn't going to be one. But every week, readers tell me some version of the same thing. They're worried. They've been laid off, or they're watching their team get smaller, or they're reading another headline about how the role they spent a decade building is going to be automated by Christmas. The fear is real, and the...

Work is a Verb A newsletter by Most Interviews Measure Polish, Not Performance Long interview processes are exhausting. I’ve been on both sides of them, and I genuinely couldn’t tell you which is more stressful. As companies try to hire more for skill and make better judgment calls on motivation, communication, and working style, the instinct is usually the same: add more steps, more panels, more hoops to jump through. It feels rigorous. It also does not seem to work very well. Robert Half...

Work is a Verb A newsletter by Token use is the new seat time. At many companies, AI success is being tracked through usage dashboards: tokens consumed, seats activated, prompts per employee, weekly activity by team. Those numbers keep rising, and that growth is often presented as proof that a real transformation is underway. Usage, adoption, effectiveness, and leverage are different things.A company can have high usage without changing how work gets done. It can integrate AI into daily...
